Official Updated Statement February 11, 2021 - 4pm Effective today, LearnAbility’s protocols and policies are loosening. With the epidemiology improving and venues reopening and activities reoccurring, we are pleased to adjust. Office restrictions and rules will continue to be monitored and updated regularly depending on community spread. We will then tighten restrictions again if necessary.: 1) If you, or any member of your household, has travelled to anywhere outside of the province, you must not attend your sessions in person for 2 weeks. We can provide you with online sessions. 2) If you, or any member of your household, intends to travel to anywhere outside of the province in the next few weeks, we remind you that when you return you will be required to stay out of our office for 14 days. 3) As per the Public Health Alerts via the Nova Scotia Government: if you have been at any exposure location on a specified date and instructed to self-isolate, monitor symptoms, and/or be tested for COVID-19. 4) If you are experiencing any symptoms (or your child or any member of your household) of Covid-19, we ask that you please move your session online. 5) We still do not have a waiting room, but so long as parents knock and not enter if there are parents already inside the doorway, they are able to come in briefly to sign or pick up students. 6) Students still have to be dropped off and picked up promptly. Contact the Director immediately if there are any health or travel concerns, so that online sessions will be arranged for you. The health and safety of our students, their families, and our staff is critical. We will continue to do our best to provide a safe environment for learning. Mandatory mask wearing was implemented in Nova Scotia in July 2020. Because we are a private facility with rooms as work areas, mask wearing is required for both students and staff when they enter the building, in all common areas, and in the tutoring rooms (as confirmed by the Chief Medical Officer of Nova Scotia's office). At LearnAbility, we take the health and safety of our staff, students, families, and our community seriously. We have taken all of the necessary PPE protocols for our office and recognize the importance of following Public Health directives. If you are attending classes in the LearnAbility office, the health protocols will be reviewed with you and must be adhered to, in order for service to be provided in our office. Above all, no masks - no service. Additionally, hand sanitization, sanitization of all rooms and equipment, social distancing, and questionnaires to determine health and safety are utilized every time a student enters and leaves our building.
Under NO circumstances are children to attend LearnAbility if they present with any symptoms of Covid 19 (the infographic shown below). It is important to note that LearnAbility also maintains online tutoring classes in addition to in person. If you would prefer your child to be tutored online, we can reserve a spot for you. We recommend that parents review the new order on masks posted by the Government of Nova Scotia. You can visit: https://novascotia.ca/coronavirus/masks/ Additionally, an infographic has been placed at the bottom of this page for your review. Students must learn how to use their mask before attending LearnAbility.
